In time management, there's a belief that humans over estimate what they can accomplish in a day, but under estimate what they can accomplish in a week, a month, or a year. In business, I believe there is something similar at work. New business owners are apt to overestimate the size of a local market, while drastically underestimating the world wide market on the internet. This is in no means meant to say that it's easy to be profitable on the internet. Attracting those first customers will be difficult. But if you can do that, you can drive thousands of customers to your site.
